Anthropic is moving forward with selecting Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs as lead underwriters for an IPO that could value the company at $2 trillion, according to reports.
Morgan Stanley is expected to secure the “lead left” position, overseeing overall listing strategy, while Goldman Sachs is expected to serve as “stabilization agent,” responsible for defending the stock price in early trading.
Anthropic initially expected to file its IPO registration statement with the SEC as early as next week and list by late September to early October. Some observers suggest the timeline may be delayed, with marketing beginning in mid-October and listing completed before the US midterm elections in November.
Anthropic’s annualized revenue for July was $65 billion, up significantly from $47 billion in May, but below investors’ most optimistic expectations of $80 billion.
