The company announced the Polarise AI Cloud at NVIDIA GTC in Berlin on October 22. It says the platform combines computing infrastructure, cloud software and business-facing AI applications operated by a European provider.
Two services for enterprise customers
The platform launches with two products.
Polarise Rise is a workplace AI assistant that employees can use to write, analyse information and conduct research. Polarise says the service runs on its European infrastructure and is intended to help organisations retain control over their data.
Polarise Drive provides API access to selected open-weight AI models. Developers can use it to integrate AI into their own software without having to manage the underlying computing hardware themselves.
The company says Drive is compatible with the OpenAI software development kit, which could make it easier for developers to adapt existing applications to the service. At launch, the product was in a controlled rollout, with access available by application.
Why European AI infrastructure matters
Many businesses want to use advanced AI but have questions about where their data is processed, who operates the infrastructure and which laws apply to their service provider.
European-hosted AI services can offer an additional option for organisations that need greater control over these factors. However, hosting location alone does not automatically guarantee regulatory compliance or data sovereignty. Customers still need to examine contracts, subprocessors, security controls, data-retention policies and the precise locations in which information is processed.
Can Europe build a stronger AI ecosystem?
European infrastructure providers are trying to compete by offering local computing capacity, support for open-weight models and services tailored to business requirements.
These platforms may appeal to companies that prefer not to build their own AI infrastructure or depend exclusively on global cloud providers.
Polarise’s announcement is one example of the broader effort to develop a European AI supply chain, from data centres and accelerated computing to the applications employees use every day. Its long-term success will depend on reliability, model performance, pricing, customer adoption and the level of control it can demonstrate in practice.
